When Greg and I became involved with mission programs in 2008 we hoped to contribute in a small way to the children of the world.
Little did we know how much these experiences would enrich and change our lives.
Time and Talents for Children, Inc. is an organization that we have created to provide dental care to children and to build and improve facilities that serve children.
Time and Talents grew from our opportunities to serve with other organizations giving us experience and foresight. It is a way that Greg and I and the volunteers that are devoted to our cause can participate in a program that will relieve pain and help children to become self reliant adults.
Our dental team takes hygienists, dentists and assistants to work with the children. We attempt to find a local dentist that is wiling to work with our team. This is usually an educational experience for the local practitioner. We estimate that it takes $35.00 to $40.00 to treat a child in country.
Our construction team hires local contractors and provides materials for work on schools, day care and nutrition centers. They then spend a week in country to help with the completion of the project. Typically, six to fourteen volunteers assist with plumbing and electrical improvements, carpentry and painting. We work side by side with local contractors and volunteers.
